Alfredo sauce is one of my favorite toppings for pasta. There are several types of alfredo sauce boring, but the recipe included below is a very delicious version of Alfredo sauce. I hope you enjoy this recipe for alfredo sauce.

Ingredients

1 medium onion, chopped
1 / 2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 / 2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup hot milk
1 / 2 cup grated Parmesan
1 pound penne
1 (8 ounce) package frozen peas, blanched in salted water
salt and white pepper

    Instructions

    In a saucepan of water to boil for pasta.

    For sauce, melt the butter in a saucepan that is big enough to accommodate the book of cooked pasta and cook the onion until translucent. Mix the flour to make a roux. Gradually add milk and let thicken over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan. Immediately cover the surface of the sauce with a sheet of plastic wrap and set aside briefly.

    Cook the pasta al dente and drain. Add cooked pasta and blanched peas to the pan containing the sauce and stir to coat the dough. Season with salt and pepper, if necessary.

    Alfredo Sauce:

    1 pint heavy cream
    1 / 2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
    1 cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
    Freshly ground
    Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

      To prepare alfredo sauce: Heat cream over medium-low heat in a skillet deep fry. Add butter and whisk gently to melt. Sprinkle with cheese and stir to incorporate. Season with freshly ground black pepper. In a large pot, cook pasta in plenty of boiling salted water for 3 minutes. Fast Drain pasta and add to the skillet, toss to coat the pasta in Alfredo. pasta in a warm serving bowl. Sprinkle with grated cheese and chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
