Alvogyl

I just went to the surgeon today and was told I had dry socket. making it flush, then compacted with Alvogyl (by far the worst tasting thing EVER and smell!). He said that I will not go for anything else. But I do not know how often to rinse the mouth now or care taking dry stuffing Alvogyl. Any information on how to take care of making dry and precautions would be wonderful.
