Well, not so much a question of whey protein because it is the overall diet. If you try to bulk up (while on a strong program of lifting of course) which you need to eat much, not junk food, but good quality healthy food. You should get approximately one gram of protein per kilogram of lean body mass, and it is not feasible or cost effective to get it all a bit of whey proteins. Eat things like tuna, eggs, chicken, turkey, etc. to really make an effort to significantly increase the amount of protein you are getting. The real benefit of whey protein is its rapid rate of absorption by the body - which makes a very good thing to take immediately after work because the protein can start getting to work as soon as possible to begin to repair muscle fiber, while the chicken breast feeding may take some time since protein takes longer to absorb.

The actual lifting routine that you obviously made a difference. If you are a beginner, try to fill it with lots of compound movements such as squats, deadlifts, lying, shoulder presses, dips and pull-ups. See a trainer or gym instructor to learn proper form, especially on squats and deadlifts! (They can be difficult and dangerous if done incorrectly).

By this time you will probably begin to notice results in as little as one or two weeks. Others, however, will probably not begin to notice results until the range of 2-4 months. Keep it up, and stay dedicated!
