Marketplace

Buy Vegetables

Posted on February 7, 2010.
Buy VegetablesI am a vegetarian recently where is the best place to buy vegetables?

I'm sure the quality of vegetables would be better to all food market or central market, as opposed to Walmart ... but nobody knows the cost difference between stores?

Where do you guys who have been vegetarians for a while prefer to buy your vegetables?

Thank you!

I prefer to buy in bulk markets for organic farmers. Organic products are cleaner and better for the environment, which can not be a concern for you. But for this reason they are more expensive, so buying markets means that you get the lowest price. It is worth investing in something that can make them last longer, like a dehumidifier for drying fruit, etc.

"Usually, I leave the city by my vegetables, such as farmers drop their load there. It is generally cooler, tastiera and cheaper (and less crushed) "

is that when you get your protein?

The vegies you get fresh food markets are certainly better quality and better taste than you get from the supermarket .... I always go to markets to buy fresh fruits, vegetables and things like cold meats roasted vegetables, cheese, spinach and feta pastries etc. This is not fun being a vegetarian.

The area farmer market. It is better for the same price or less. Higher end stores tend to have greater choice, but in reality it is still nutritionally.

Meijer NOT .. Kroger is probably the best, Giant Eagle is ok too. If you have money the best places are Whole Foods and Trader Joes for sure.

Form of seeds, then plant yourself.

In fact, many chains have improved the quality of their products. many of them now carry organic products. Besides, most people can not really make a difference. The best way to buy vegetables and fruit is to buy in the season when they are at the peak of flavor and quality. And generally much less expensive because of the abundance.

Try not to buy what you can not eat two or three days. Because, after that time, the quality decreases. Once it is chosen, the vegetables and fruits begin to lose their natural sugars and flavor of their detention for a period of time to make them taste flat.

Unless necessary, do not overcook them either.

The same place you should be buying them as an omnivore, wherever they are fresher.

buy local whenever you can! Whole foods is good. But I would say a farmers' market. They usually have decent prices, and its good to support your local!
