If you've seen the Royal Thai vegetables and fruits technical care, when I was a leader, we had a chef from Thailand this is normally done by women, but he could carve anything out of nothing.
I learned a few things from him, and he was very kind to myself, try some sites I will give some tracks, buy carrots cons of veg loose, large, and the practice on them and oranges work so you get the sense tools and doing simple things to start, then work your way up to large things, like melons and larger fruit and vegetables.
I still have all my tools and such to practice from time to time, just be patient and work your way, it's a learning experience.
