Fruit NurseryPosted on February 4, 2010. How to start a nursery garden and orchard of fruit trees? I will be buying about 100 acres for about $ 2 million in central Ohio. I always wanted to start my own nursery, but I have some questions about it. Firstly, where can I get the plants and trees? Also things like flowers and tropical plants house for sale. I also sell mulch, garden ornaments, seeds, and also things like stone and paved patio. Where can I get this stuff from, and probably in bulk? I would also like to plant peach, apples, nectarines, etc. trees that people can pick fruits and things. I also try grapes and bananas, lime, orange and lemon trees in greenhouses. Where can I get things like greenhouses too. I would also like vegetables and things. How much will all this cost and how much money can I make a year of this activity. It would also be like a pond of water and a water system in all plants. Now, I'd probably want to use about 50 acres of the, maybe 75 SET 100 There are several wholesale nurseries here in CA, as Monrovia, which can provide you. Find out where your local nurseries receive their plants. Home Depot gets a lot of their facilities in Monrovia and Lowes Jackson Perkins as their supplier. You're going to cost at which the supplier is cheaper for the types of plant material that you want. As for water and electricity, you should consult your local utility provider to determine rates. You can probably create your own greenhouse, but you will have the cost of supplies to do so. How much you earn depends on what you know and what you can sell. Many nurseries produce large quantities of plants and flowers for the house and garden without "buying". Clearly a knowledge of the culture for a wide range of products is desirable. You'll need to know your soil, climate, and customers as well. Good for suppliers of plant material are essential, as it is to know your market, have good variety, and provide guidance. If you can specialize in a variety of plants / trees / products, the better. Greenhouses can be costly, but are essential for indoor plants, plant bidding, and coffee! You need to "spy" of the nursery BEST you know - do better! Contact your local Nursery & Landscape Association's. I'm not sure what the exact name of the organization is in your area, but here in Texas is just the ARND Texas Nursery & Landscape Association's. There should be one for your region. You'll find the answers to any questions you have. 20,000 an acre? Way too much. CommentsThere are no comments.Leave a Comment |
