What are the tools you need to grow your own vegetables? So far, I have
Cannes
Trowell
Pots
Trays
Spade
Fork
Rake
Growbags
Watering
Am I missing something?
If you have pots on your list, you will from some plants in Waiting, you'll need compost peat-free multi-purpose. Some wioll Enviromesh be very useful to prevent insects from your plants and also as protection against frost early in the season. If there are rabbits around your property, you'll need wire rods and build fences, but needen't be too high, 75 inches is fine.
yup, get this book and you'll be able to eliminate most of the other
you should be able to check you local library and it's fun to read. you'll thank me for it

With arthritis, degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis, I can very well spend my last years in a wheelchair. With Ms. Stout method of gardening, I'll never go hungry. It is possible to plant a few plants (or harvesting of a number of things) every day early in the morning when I can stand outside. When my children come to me, they lay a few bales of hay (or straw) here and there so I could grab a handful and throw on something more without permission. It was a wise old woman (with a great sense of humor)!

4.0 out of 5 Nowork gardening, easy reading, a lot of information!, December 21, 1999
By Heather Gray (Massachusetts) - See all my reviews
My mother gave me this book ages ago, so I have a copy (it has been out of print for some time). I finally decided to read this winter, and it was a pleasure. It is based on articles published previously, so you will not find any information on the asparagus on a single page. But his writing style is clear and easy, and so engaging and entertaining that you do not bother to read it from beginning to end. In addition, it is a useful index at the back, so you can always go to pages that have useful information on a particular point. I loved the book so much that I decided to order Ruth No yard work for the Aging, Busy and lazy. It just arrived today and I can not wait to start reading it!

Great book - I actually tried this method for the last 8 months - I live in the desert near Boise ID. He cut my yard work strongly - mulching holds moisture in the soil = less watering! and VERY few weeds!

String or twine to attach your taller plants such as tomatoes and peppers - keep them out of the ground and away from bugs! Otherwise, the ground seeds, water, sun, spade and rake.
Depends on vegetables, but you'll need something to cut out and play with them. Just a stick and a string works. And you can cut the hand plenty of vegetables.
