Hulless Popcorn

Has anyone ever tried hulless corn? It is not supposed to get caught in the gums and I was wondering if it is safe for a year 1 1 / 2 old to eat? I always thought popcorn would be skinless and the best invention I have discovered that the hulless popcorn is supposed to be the closest you can get popcorn kernel without skin.
