Italian ChocolateChocolate Crime in Eu: Italians defend their craft-based pure chocolate

Italian Tradition chocolate avoid alternatives to cocoa butter, which northern European manufacturers tend to use up to a limit of 5% allowed by EU regulations. They are concerned about the threat of cheaper food products in their markets and are also pushing the EU to give the best Italian chocolate "Traditional Speciality Guaranteed (TSG) status. In 2003, the purists successfully lobbied for the introduction of a new 'puro cioccolato label here, so that consumers can make the difference between the two types. However, the EU argued that even the tag' puro cioccolato "equivalent to discriminate unfairly against competitors. Most artisans use cocoa chocolate to fair trade certification. This shows the cacao was sold at a fair price for farmers in Third World products and environmentally friendly manner with full respect for human workers.

To defend their pure chocolate, Italian has a very large number of events in 2007, mainly in Umbria, the region's traditional chocolate. If you want to visit Umbria check Dream Destination Europe www.dde-europe.com
