Jam Media ResponsePosted on February 13, 2010. A major media Hit and not even one phone call? A magazine published an article on you. You were persuaded that this article would be great, and you were prepared. You're going to add additional telephone lines to handle hundreds, even thousands, of calls that you knew would be jamming your lines. Thus, the story came out and - nothing. Not a single call. As far as you know, not a soul saw it. You are crushed. "This is it!" You yell, pounding his fist on the desk. "More PR! You've been spinning your wheels, wasting time and money, and for what? Nothing!" You have been . No more media. He does not work and you are an excellent example that does not work. You are the illustration of a story consumed the failure of the media. Right? Well, take a look. Of course, trying to explain that the above scenario is not the story of a media failure for customers who have had similar experiences can be the hardest part of my job. If I were handling your campaign, I too am disappointed that the article does not have your phone ringing off the hook, but in the overall scheme of things, I think this article is a great tool for us using others to increase the magazine and TV coverage. To be effective in this area must look at the bigger picture. Your short term goals were not met by the article in question, but it gives you powerful new ammunition to reach your long term goals. It helps you to establish an expert in your field and separates you from your competitors. It gives you yet another media tear sheet that you can use another article that you can draw your quotations from press releases and bios. If this article is not giving you the answer you are looking for, what can it do? Plenty.
