Be safe in the desert while camping Iran

Camping in the desert of Iran can be a rather brutal and ruthless, you must be prepared to be fully autonomous.

  • Hydration
    • Since hydration is a major concern, it is recommended to follow the general rule of carrying 2 liters of water per day per person.
    • Alcohol, even if you're not thirsty.
    • When hiking, make one gallon of water per day plus extra in case of emergency.
    • Store up water in your car.
    • carry water, even if you do plan to explore a short distance from your car.
  • Dress for Success
    • Wear a hat with a brim and light-colored, lightweight clothing.
    • Pack warm clothes and windbreaker in case the wind gets up or the weather gets colder.
    • Wear sunglasses and sunscreen, plenty of sunscreen.
  • Carry a flashlight and a spare battery
    • Make sure your car is in good working condition - service stations are rare.
    • Carry a spare tire, jack, and a few flares.
    • Make councils put under the tires if you hit a sand trap (see below).
    • "Fix-a-Flat" can be a lifeline with jumper cables.
  • If you hit a sand trap ...
    • Shift key and move on.
    • If you're stuck, do not turn the wheels, you only dig deeper into.
    • Try going in the opposite direction.
    • If you go in the opposite direction does not work, place boards or carpet pieces under your tires.
    • If you can not get out, stay with your car.
    • Do not leave your car unless you are sure that help is nearby.
  • Know Where You're Going
    • When hiking, always carry a topographical map and a compass.
    • Take a compass before you start your walk, and look for cues to guide you back.
    • Tell someone where you are and when you return.
    • Exercise caution when traveling roads they often branch and divide.
  • Misc.
    • Avoid flash floods bearing narrow gorges and washing when there is a possibility of rain.
    • Abandoned mines may have hidden the trees, and old buildings in ghost towns in danger of collapsing, be careful. Most mines, including those listed in the drop, are private property, no trespassing allowed.
    • Gas: When the sign says "Next gas 50 miles," you better know that you have enough to do before making the pumps! Never go below a quarter tank.
    • While camping in the southern regions of California, know that the areas are used as transit routes for migrants and are monitored by the U.S. Border Patrol.
