Purim FoodGift Baskets for Purim and other ideas to give

When Purim comes around each year, we are faced with what to give to each other. Some people make their own gift baskets and to share their own gifts. It's certainly special when your work goes into your gift.
But for those of us who are not so handy, we'll just buy baskets and what to put inside. There are many things to fill our baskets. And the food preparation is just as good thought worthy of making baskets and gifts.
Item number one on the list is Hamentaschen. Poppy seeds and plum are the traditional toppings, but the apple butter, cherries and canned pineapple are certainly delicious fillings that work quite well. The treatment of three sides is often attributed to Haman three cornered hat.
If you make yourself, make sure you fold the sides with one on each side and another in the opposite corner of each side over the other. Some less experienced cooks have tried to fold two sides adjacent to the inside and then fold the bottom flap on the other two sides. This does not work because the flap is open and
it is simply not fun to eat that way.
If you wish, perform the mitzvah of sending Shalach Manot to a foreigner by sending a gift basket to an Israeli soldier. Active service at the border Labanese, many soldiers would receive special gift baskets sent directly to them. It would certainly let them know that we think about them in these difficult times.
Visit by Israel to place your order on time. The cost is not much and you have completed your term of Purim. Now, start putting together a basket for a friend. "
Although gift baskets full of sweet foods are gifts to give to the needy, there are other ways to give of yourself during the celebration of Purim. Be creative, funny and informative, you can mount a sketch that you can then perform for people in hospitals, daycare centers and nursing homes. You never know, you just may be the only person who visits this year.
Help with setting up a carnival of Purim. Giving your time is an act of donation, as well as a gift basket to the needy and is half a shekel is charity. The act of giving is in the heart, without you, it may not be enough people to put up a carnival of Purim. So do not hesitate to ask.
Purim is a wonderful time of the year. Even if the time can not be larger, spring is upon us, as the victory was just around the corner where the Jews looked like they were in their darkest days when Haman had cast lots, or "Purim" to determine
day he would exterminate the Jews. Even if better days are coming these days are soon to show people that you love.
The Jewish community is strong and just as we have done some twenty-five hundred years. This is the message. That is why we celebrate. So, drink and fun until you can not tell the difference between "Blessed be Mordechai" and "Cursed be Haman."
But, give yourself and give yourself the best gift worth giving.
