Riverford RecipesCan I put the lenses in a carrot, tomato soup with arugula?

I have a few leftover bits to use and found a recipe for Nice carrot, tomato and soup with rocket.
I wanted to use some red lentils too. Do you think that would work?

Yes - they add a little flavor and a little body to the soup

Yes, of course. The lentils will thicken the soup up, sure.

Lens Will are really good in soup or broth, In Spain, they have everything in the pot in the inland villages, I had some soups really beautiful / broths containing them, usually with chickpeas , pieces of ham, potatoes, leeks, eral, it is a real joy to explore all the tastings different sizes, lenses just add to it.The trick is to soak the lenses first into the water , or boil before adding, but most are just thrown in.

Go ahead, just make sure that the lentils are thoroughly cooked

I think red lentils are those who do not require soaking, but if they do not soak them, and drop them into the soup. Say, ten minutes before hand, as an act declared lenses as thickener nice to soup.
Can I suggest a pinch of cheese on top? With a little ground black pepper? Take some bread, and you have a meal.

, I did exactly that and it tastes as though the lenses make

Absolutely!
All of the above (in particular, the option pre-cooking, could not resist the cheese), but add the onion, garlic, bay leaf, paprika, oregano and cumin to taste the taste.
Would work wonders!

I used to order from this company before they begin selling cans of meat!

I think I would go, and lentils are excellent for you.

One thing I can say, you certainly do not need chicken broth, cream or butter. I use vegetable broth, soy cream / yogurt and vegetable oil margarine vegan /. If it easy to turn this into a recipe without cruelty!

Hope that helps,

Tim

Yes, it sounds wonderful to me!

Lenses specially red will help the soup in many respects, the lenses of others will require soaking and longer cooking, also will not be so easy to cook for a pasty consistency which thicken the soup. Do not think that cheese is necessary, serve with toast or croutons.Great for an evening chill, enjoy
