Spyderco Salt

Posted on March 11, 2010.
Spyderco SaltCan I bring a pocket knife through / Canada-US border?

I am traveling to New York (Long Island) in Toronto this wknd bus and I'm very excited.

I have a Canadian passport, and had several trips to New York before without any problems and they never checked my backpack at all etc..

But this time I want to take my knife with me since I started falling in love with knives today.

This pond was knife blade length 3 13/16 "which I think is not a tactical weapon to all
mainly useful for tasks such as cutting cardboard, cut fruit, etc.
Ever wanted to be a weapon for me, however we can custom guys think differently.

To be exact, the model is a Pacific Salt Spyderco meant for divers and the utility or emergency rescue cutting purposes.
It's just a folding knife with a single edge. No automatic, gravity or any other type of source attacted.
Purely opened by hand pressure with blocking back.

So the question short, is it permissible, if I just stuck in my backpack and pretend that it is not there,
or just clip inside of my pocket, because they search me for no particular reason?

I'm not leaving without my knife ... (

Agency Canada Border Services:

"The following weapons are prohibited from entering Canada:
aec automatic knives like switchblades;
aec Knives centrifugal machines such as knives or butterfly knives;
aec gravity knives;
aec mace or pepper designed for use on humans;
aec nunchaku;
aec Shuriken (out);
aec manrikigusari or kusari Chains (combat);
aec ring with blades or other sharp objects protruding from the surface;
aec Taser stun guns and shorter than 480 mm;
aec crossbows designed for use with one hand;
aec crossbows 500 mm or less;
aec Constant Companion (belt-buckle knives);
aec push daggers
aec Devices under 30 cm concealing a knife (eg, comb-knife);
aec spiked wristbands;
aec blow guns;
aec Kiyoga or steel batons Cobra (spring poles);
aec spring rigid batons (triggered by a button or lever);
aec morning star and
aec brass knuckles. "

Since you say that your knife is not automatic, gravity or spring, it should go. Most laws in the United States on switchblades knives and treat more than 4 inches.

: D knives are very funny.

being the legal age means that you get to sit at the adults rather than the Slammer Slammer kiddie
