Whats an alternative to using a food mill once you boil the potatoes for gnocchi?

Emma, I do not use the food mill for my dumplings, I use the press potatoes hand, 100 times better texture.

Chris

mashed potatoes will be your best bet. If you do not, then you must make sure you mash them well. If you have a metal colander and a good rubber spatula, you can use. Mash the potatoes up. then add a small amount of potatoes to the colander and smoosh around with the spatula. Push to extrude the potatoes through the sets in the colander.

This may also work if you have a good sieve or strainer. You can boil the potatoes a bit longer than normal if you do not have a ricer or a factory. The mildest of potatoes, the easier it will be to push through a sieve or strainer and. If you make gnocchi or even mashed potatoes much ... then its worth it to buy a ricer. They run about $ 20. If you buy one, look for a model that has multiple plates of different dimensions of production. Do not but a cheap one with one hole size, it's just not worth it.

I use a potato masher potatoes -
