Wallpaper Borders

Posted on January 29, 2010.
Wallpaper BordersDo you hate wallpaper borders on the top of the wall by the ceiling?

Am I the only one who sees wallpaper borders that are set up by the ceiling as tacky? I think this way because it seems that you could not cut the paint itself you just put up a border. Also, I heard that interior designers do not set very high too. I went to a model home and they had a border in the middle of the wall of coordinating wallpaper above and below. I like it, but up near the ceiling yuck!

Coordination of borders, or egg and dart, the figures of Greece, etc. near the ceiling are just fine for Victorian, Edwardian, and Tudor decoration schemes.

What you want - mythical separating the border - which just happens to work for several types.

I'm almost bordered on ... wherever they are.

lol, I hate them too ;-)

Very 80's.

I have a friend who hated them so much he had lowered ceilings, even if it was nearly seven feet high - HES 75 now and walks with a stoop - crazy border! If you see a call to police the borders!

I had a flower border in my room in the late 80s. I am happy to say that the only place where this wallpaper border is now in my memory.

Must be my age, but I love them according to what they are.

Totally against the wallpaper or anything related to this family of any changes.

Normally, I do not like this look. I never realized people used the border to hide the mistakes of the painting, but now I do. thx

I always see them in the houses of middle class suburban homes. I see them advertised in catalogs that are intended for these types of housing. My sister-in-law to them - yuck is right! Of course, I was polite and did not tell him how I really feel.

What I like in a living room and dining room is what my aunt a. The walls were painted. Then, at the presidential level is a rail-thin wooden border with wallpaper flowers tastefully below it, with matching color of paint over the wood with appropriate furniture, it has a stylish design for

But who really cares what you and interior designers, like or dislike. I love them and it has nothing to do with not being able to cut paint correctly.

I guess it's a case of ...... To each their own.

I am a manager at a department store painting of great home improvement ... but before I became a manager, I worked in the decorating section of the store. We have sold and continue to sell a mountain boundaries - off the grid and .... to practice with all sorts of people. These same people will sometimes bring their boundaries are well chosen for the paint shop for us to digitize a portion of it (the color they like best) so they can coordinate their wall color at the border.
I have a couple of pieces with edges up - but my favorite is the room I stenciled ivy and pink border. In the rooms I have a frontier town ... Both are at the top (which btw has nothing to do with the ability to cut ).... and there is a chair rail border.
Borders are no long delays there .... they go hard on the market today and seems to be appreciated by many - young, old, and it does not seem to be income based either.
